School Overview

​Suncroft National School has grown and expanded over the years to better serve the needs of its students. In 1979, the school added a new extension that includes four classrooms, a resource room, a learning support room, a secretary's office, a staff room, a P.E. hall, a computer room, a school garden, a basketball court, and a large football area.

Our school believes that every child deserves a quality education and has a team of experienced and dedicated teachers who work hard to provide a stimulating and nurturing learning environment. Our staff is passionate about helping students achieve their full potential, and strive to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere where children feel valued, respected, and supported.

Suncroft National School is proud of its history and the many generations of students who have passed through its doors. As our school continues to grow and evolve, we remain committed to providing the highest quality education and creating a community where every child can flourish. ​Suncroft National School pride themselves on providing a safe, healthy, and child-friendly environment for all students. To ensure that is achieved, the school adhere to the regulations set out by the Department of Education. 

A dedicated board of management has been in place since November 2019. The board is as follows:

Each member of the board of management is committed to maintaining the highest standards for our school, ensuring that it continues to provide a nurturing and positive learning environment for all students.

Deis School Status 

​​The DEIS program is the Department's primary policy initiative aimed at addressing educational disadvantage. It aims to provide targeted resources to schools included in the program, with the goal of ensuring that every child has an equal opportunity to reach their full potential.

Green Flag Status

​The Green-Schools program, also known internationally as Eco-Schools is an award-winning environmental education initiative that promotes and celebrates long-term, sustainable environmental action across schools.

The Green-Schools program is centered around Seven Steps that guide schools towards environmental stewardship. These steps include: 
1. Green- Schools Committee
2. Environmental Review
3. Action Plan
4. Monitoring and Evaluation
5. Curriculum Work
6. Informing and Involving
7. Green Code
